The Corona Virus and the Crown of Life

The signs of the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ are now prevalent for the last couple of months. From wars to the recent calamities to the present battle of the world against Covid-19. The world is in a race against time to defeat the virus and save thousands and even millions of lives. But aren’t we also in a race against time to receive salvation from Jesus Christ?

Yes, it’s true. Man is in a race towards salvation. In Titus 2:11 “For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men”. Look at the image of our society, people are racing to buy foods; panic buying for sanitizers; hoarding of supplies. They don’t even care the high cost of the products thinking those materials will save them, but little do the know, it will not. They neglected what already appeared – Grace. Considering it’s FREE. No matter how you save your life from virus without the grace of God, life is nothing. Human existence is unknown.

Our Lord Jesus Christ will always be greater than any fear invoking disease. We might be anxious of what this corona virus may do to our loved ones and to ourselves, but the Bible reminds us in Psalms 91:2 that the Lord is our refuge and our fortress and that we should trust in Him. During these times that our world portrays a pandemic threat, the Lord promises in Psalms 91:3 that He will deliver us from it.

The world’s current situation is God’s reminder that this is the time to humble ourselves, to pray and to seek Him and surely, He will hear us and heal us. We must turn away from our sins and be faithful to Jesus Christ who can heal us from this universal contagion that already killed thousands of lives.

The Lord remains true to His promises. When we are tested with crisis such as this, the book of James 1:12 reminds us that those who had endured temptation will receive the crown of life, which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.

For the believers, that would be a glorious day! The day we receive the crown of life is the day we see our Savior face to face. That day will be a day without sorrows, problems, worries and sickness. We will never experience global endemics such as the Covid-19 in life eternal with Jesus Christ and certainly, He will make you an overcomer of this virus.

The crown of life that was given us is larger than the widespread disease, because when the world is dimming there is a beam of hope that shines incandescently – eternal life.
