God says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you”. The main reason why God stays. He stays true to His Word. He stays real to His promises. Indeed, He is the epitome of love, simply because He is love.

The song reminds us how faithful, loving, compassionate, forgiving and powerful God is. Isaiah 55:8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts neither are your ways my ways,” declares the Lord. This verse exactly tells us that God’s way is far different from that of men. In our lives, we all go through trials and tests and most of us, when get exhausted and burnt out, we leave, but with God no matter how sinful we become, He stays. If we don’t get what we prayed for, we leave; with God, even if we become unfaithful, He stays. How long a man should stay? Matthew 24:13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.  But with God, Matthew 28:20  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Matthew 24:35 “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my Words shall not pass away. Truly, Jesus is the ONE GOD who stays.

He is our God and sure He stays with us. He never lets us alone in our journey, in every single step of our lives, there is a God who guides us always. Our family, friends and relatives and the whole world will leave us behind but our God will never turn away from us and with wide open arms He stands with us reminding each one that nothing we have ever done can separate our hearts from His endless love. As stated in Romans 8:31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Each line of the song depicts the difference of God’s nature to man. What men do to God and what God does to men. We hide whenever we sin but God’s love and forgiveness is always revealed to every man. Romans 8:38-39 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Our shame can’t separate us for our confidence is from God.  Our guilt can’t separate us for He had already forgiven us. Our past can’t separate us for He did forget our wickedness and remembered our sins no more. None can separate us from the love of God, our sins can’t separate us for He already paid them off at the cross of Calvary.

We are not defined by our past anymore because the moment we accepted God, we become new.  2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is anew creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. Who we were is not who we are now.  Galatians 2:20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God,

Jesus, is the God who stays, the question is, will you also stay?
