In a field of doubt, plant a seed of faith and God will send rain. This is the message of this song called Seed of Faith. A brand-new song by Charity Gayle and Ryan Kennedy, performed live at Free Chapel last January 2023.

There are so many choices to take, yet so many possibilities to pick the wrong ones. Due to this, we are left in a state of confusion because we do not know if what we are doing or what choices we are making are the right ones. This causes us to fear and doubt, which leaves us exhausted and suffocated most of the time.

It is precisely for this reason that God assures us in 1Corinthians 10:13 that He will not give us more than we can handle, provided that we rely daily on His promises that His grace is sufficient for us and that He will never leave us or forsake us.

In our flesh, however, knowing and believing don't always suffice to prove God's presence. It is only when we are able to see tangible blessings and feel positive things occurring that we can be confident that God is with us and we are not alone in this journey.

A similar sentiment is expressed in the first verse of this song.

I'm reaching barely breathing, Do You see me here below, I believe You, but help me see You I need to know that you near me Lord.

Contrary to the first verse, the second verse emphasizes the importance of walking by faith rather than sight. It states, "In every situation, He is ready to deliver us.” This is because God is always in control, no matter what season of our lives we are in.

You’re working, I’m growing. In the trial and through the storms. In the waiting, teach me patience. Remind my heart that I’m not alone.

That is why the bridge of this song encourages us to grow in faith and to be patient with God's process. Trust that God's plans and ways are better than ours, and that when we find ourselves in a time of uncertainty, plant the seed of faith, knowing confidently that rain will follow.

So, let it rain (let it rain), Cause things start to change, So let it rain (let it rain),  It won’t stay the same, From the glory to glory, You’re writing my story, (When it rains, when it rains, So let it rain.

Yes, He will send rain to help our seeds grow, and then we will discover that the place we are now will not be the same as the place we are after His nourishing process, and so we can prove His power and movement.

It is the chorus of this song, however, that contains the most powerful message since God speaks to mankind.

Fear not, I am the Lord, Your God, and trust, that I'm working all things out. So in the field of doubt, plant a seed of faith, I'll send the rain.

Certainly, there is nothing to fear, for the God we serve is a mighty one, a God who is all-knowing, all-powerful, and omnipresent. Nothing is hidden from Him and nothing is impossible for Him to accomplish; all we need to do is to trust Him.

As such, whenever we encounter something unknown, God wants us to realize that this is a fertile ground for seeds of faith to sprout and a chance for His glory to be revealed.
