Pototan, Iloilo --- Last July 17, 2022, a new cell group  was formed in Brgy. Danao Pototan, Iloilo headed by OPIF PH National Presbyter, Pastor Solomon Vili, and Bro. Elmer Potente, formerly from OPIF ME Sector 7. This happened simultaneously with OPIF PH Sector 13 being inaugurated in Bautista, Pangasinan.

The fellowship service started with a prayer led by the Presbyter himself and was followed by a welcome speech and a short introduction of the cell group to the attendees from Bro. Elmer Potente. The two elders also grabbed the opportunity to share testimonies of God’s goodness and some words of encouragement to encourage the group to seek first God’s Kingdom.

There were more than twenty of them who participated in the first fellowship service  and was mostly attended by the relatives of Bro. Potente. When asked how it all started, Pastor Vili answered, “First, we conducted a survey on which could be the best place to hold a service and gratefully, Bro. Potente suggested his previous home. We then started with just a simple sharing of the Word of God and a prayer of healing for the sick.”

“It gave me joy knowing that all were willing to let us in to their homes for a Bible Study. And then after getting a good result on our initial visit, we decided to go to the Brgy. Captain to ask permission to formally hold regular church gatherings which he easily agreed to, given a condition not to entertain other visitors for the mean time because of the CoVid-19 situation in our place. But was kind enough to let us borrow the chairs for the services in case we need it,” he added.

Invited to preach in the service was Pastor Joselito Monares, resident pastor of OPIF ME S4, who’s on a vacation that time. He preached on the message taken from John 14:6, “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

“For now, it’s just me and Bro. Potente who are ministering in the place. We don’t have workers, musicians, and instruments yet. But we’re optimistic God has something big in store for us. We’re now planning to dedicate to God the place we’re holding a service. We want Him to move freely in our midst,” Pastor Vili said in the interview, inspired by God's word in Romans 1:16, "For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek."
