Participants joined the Blood-Letting Campaign in Pinagbuhatan Pasig City

Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City— More than 50 volunteers donated blood during a “Blood-letting Campaign” here in this City on December 7, 2019.

Spearheaded by OPIF Inc. World Mission department, the medical mission was partnered by Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay Inc. in close coordination with Pastor Michael Benito, the current WM Board Director. Pastor Renato Furo of S2 Binangonan led the medical mission ground work along with his active members.

“We came up to this campaign through Teacher Luchie Benito who is my aunt, a school teacher in the same school and a coordinator of the DUGONG ALAY DUGTONG BUHAY, Inc.,” shared Pastor Benito in an interview.

He added that this was already their second project with the school. The first one happened in April 2019 in which they pledged uniforms for 175 non-reader students including some of their teachers.

When asked why chose to have such projects in the school, Pastor Benito answered, “I have this vision that a church of God will stand in Pasig City in the near future. I know the Lord will use these projects to open a door for a Bible study not just in the school but to the households of the teachers and students as well.”

“Its hitting 2 birds with one stone”, described Pastor Renato Furo in an interview apparently referring to sharing God’s words to the participants at the same time conducting the blood-letting mission. Pastor Furo stressed on the importance of the blood of JESUS as he shared the word of God during the event. Tracks were also distributed as part of the campaign activity.

Pastor Benito excitedly shared the good news that the School Principal gladly accepted the request for a Bible study to be opened in the school. DUGONG ALAY DUGTONG BUHAY, Inc. has likewise promised to support the upcoming OPIF Medical Missions.

One of those who delightedly donated blood was Bro. Joel Celebre of OPIF Dunes Sector 8 and a graduate of the recently concluded OPIF Bible School program.
