San Mateo Rizal - In what is dubbed as “Kamay sa Kalamidad”, OPIF Philippines headed by the World Mission Ministry launched feeding program on November 26, 2020 inside the Ynares Multi-Purpose Covered Court here in Brgy. Sta. Ana, San Mateo Rizal.

Headed by OPIF’s resident Pastors Marlon Martin and Renato Furo of Sectors 1 and 2 respectively, the feeding program which kicked off with evangelism teaching at 3:30 PM was attended by close to 200 evacuees and 60 families affected by the recent typhoon Ulysses who all sought temporary shelters in the covered court.

In an interview with Sister Jenny Reyes, one of those who assisted the team, she said “the participants were all thankful and happy for the good deeds OPIF extended to the evacuees of typhoon Ulysses. They were in fact thankful not only for the physical food we provided but much so for the spiritual food we offered during the feeding program”.

“It’s a beautiful experience to witness many people craving to hear the word of God, in fact 5 of them asked for prayer while most of them were responsive during the teaching”, Sis Reyes added. When asked how was the experience joining a feeding program, Sis Gillian Jao, who was present during the event said, “I am happy to have helped the team and at the same time to be part of an actual program meant for evangelism”.

Pastors Furo and Martin led the evangelism teachings prior to the food distribution. Gospel tracts were also made available.

Also present during the event were Sis. Paula Reyes and Sis. Luz Vite.
